Having only beared witness to maximum of a 32″ tv in my lifetime, this telly really takes the biscuit.

It’s amazing, standard scart input quality is really very good, i was expecting a much more disminished picture on such a big screen but it’s fine, 1080 immediately just sticks a grin on your chops.

The response time is only 3.5ms and i haven’t noticed as much “blurring” when watching fast detailed motion like football as i did on my previous LCD tv.

There is a very helpful picture optimisation wizard so you don’t have to try endless numerical combinations of settings to get the picture looking right either.

This is a LED TV (despite someone suggesting otherwise), it’s under 3cm deep and the screen is side-lit as opposed to back-lit. You can notice this (lighting) if there is one matte colour being displayed, the sides will appear lighter then the middle of the screen but it’s not annoying.

On a sunny day the screen does seem to reflect a lot of light although i don’t know if this is just because it’s so big and also i like to have the screen relatively dim anyway.

The speakers aren’t amazing but that is to be expected on such a slimline telly.

The tv is not over powering on your eyes and the viewing area is very good, on my last sony lcd telly if you were looking up to it, the top of the screen would become very dark and you basically couldn’t see what was going on, but this one doesn’t have any such problems!

    I thoroughly recommend it !!!

Good All rounder, 13 Sep 2011

I bought this TV from Amazon UK and currently I am using in Sri Lanka. I have never used LG audio and video before and there was no any review on this TV when I bought. I have used Sharp and Samsung LCD TV but the picture quality on this LED TV is absolutely stunning. Sound quality is also decent enough. Due to the edge LED the sides are lighter than middle of the screen when whole screen is empty. This TV is very thin and no heat comes from the screen comparing to plasma and LCD. When you switch on to energy saving mode, you get the dark picture. Matt brushed metal finish frame reduce the eye strain comparing to polished black frames. I have not tested analog TV but digital SD picture quality on satellite box is superb. In built USB supports DIVX HD files and other file formats. Picture quality on this TV with my Panasonic blu ray player is amazing. LG website indicates this TV has 100Hzt clear motion rate whereas other sellers indicate 50Hzt. other negative point is, this TV does not automatically switch to HDMI source when bly ray player is on through HDMI.

However, this TV is a good all rounder and good value for money.

37-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LED TV with Freeview

I finally got rid of my ultra reliable JVC big box and took delivery of this LG. easy to set up, and a couple of hours refining the picture, as you are aware if you dont have HD from Sky or Freeview/Virgin etc a standard definition picture struggles to fill a HD screen and it amplifies all the deficiencies of the standard SD picture. I got an acceptable picture and I have to wait a week until I recieve my Sky HD box to truely get a great picture. The operating system is very easy to understand, and it virtually does all the work in setting up itself. The edge LED system is great, brightening up a picture which a normal LCD doesnt. I played a 720p movie from a SD card last night and the quality is superb and I expect not much more from the HD Sky set up next week. To sum up fantastic picture.

Negative points. The sound from the tv is quite poor through the inboard speakers, real tinny and no guts, but I knew this would be the case and I use a 5.1 Sony surround to provide the sound.

Amazon has put its price up £50 or so in the last few days and I got this for £404 which is a great deal, I feel the updated price is still great value for this quality product, the only reason I deducted a star is for the sound from the speakers, but in my opinion you should have a decent external sound system anyway if you are watching 1080p vision.
